Access to Finance Information Session Strengthens Business Growth Opportunities

On 05 November 2025, the Department of Economic Development and Tourism, in partnership with Oricred, successfully hosted an Access to Finance information session aimed at equipping local businesses with practical knowledge on available funding opportunities. The session formed part of the Department’s ongoing efforts to support enterprise development and improve access to financial resources for small, medium, and emerging businesses.

The event was attended by senior executives at Oricred, including the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Business Developer, who shared valuable insights into Oricred’s role as a funding partner. Particular emphasis was placed on purchase order funding, a financial solution that enables businesses to fulfil confirmed orders by providing the necessary capital upfront. This funding model is especially beneficial for businesses that face cash flow challenges despite having secured clients and contracts.

During the presentation, the Oricred team outlined the funding process, eligibility requirements, and the benefits of working with a specialised finance partner. The session was followed by an interactive Question and Answer segment, which allowed participants to engage directly with the executives, raise concerns, and seek clarity on their specific business needs.
