The Women in Tourism platform was established as a strategic initiative to empower women, enhance their participation in the industry, and drive transformation in tourism. During the AGM, discussions focused on a vigorous membership drive to expand the chapter’s reach, establishing strategic partnerships to bolster support for initiatives, and ensuring representation and collaboration to achieve inclusivity and shared goals. The meeting also addressed advancing transformation to create a more equitable tourism landscape alongside capacity building and empowerment initiatives designed to enhance skills and opportunities for women in the sector. As the chapter came together to deliberate and elect its leadership, the event served as a valuable platform for meaningful discussions that will contribute to the continued growth and transformation of the tourism sector in the Northern Cape. The participants’ fruitful deliberations are expected to have a lasting impact on the tourism industry, and we look forward to seeing the outcomes of their efforts. |
