The MEC for Health in province, Mr Mxolisi Sokatsha, would like to take this opportunity to invite all to the STI/Condom Awareness and Ministerial Health Campaign in Van Zylsrust the John Taolo Gaetsewe District on 18 March 2011.
Social mobilization for behaviour change is done mainly through community awareness campaigns. This event aims to increase public knowledge focusing on the prevention and management of the signs and symptoms of all Sexually Transmitted Infections(STI’s) including HIV and AIDS.
Furthermore provide support to Health Care Workers in dealing with STI’s,HIV and AIDS, promote access to services and adherence to prescribed treatment, encourage partner notification and full compliance with treatment.,reinforce consistent and correct use of both male and female condoms.
During this event health services will be provided as well as giving communities the opportunity to raise their concerns and challenges with government leaders. It is our responsibility to take precaution during sex. Services to be rendered will be Dental and Eye clinics, Blood pressure testing, Sugar level testing, Male and female condom distribution and TB screening and testing. All services are free of charge.
We call upon all Van Zylsrust and surrounding community members, to support the campaign and access the services to be rendered to ensure we build healthy communities.
