The Department of Agriculture and Land Reform welcomes to the Northern Cape all delegates to the congress of the South African Veterinary Public Health Association, 15-16 October, Upington. The Department’s Chief Director of Agriculture Technical Services and President of the South African Veterinary Council, Dr Rebone Moerane, is to provide keynote address tomorrow, 15 October 2008. The congress which is proudly sponsored by the Department, is being held under the theme; “Veterinary public health – an African challenge.”Key issues up for debate would include food safety an its inextricable link to food security. The congress coincides with the commemoration of World Food Day – 16 October 2008.
