Marking 30 years of the Constitution, he reported major gains in Kimberley’s water. security, including the R2.5 billion Riverton Water Treatment Plant and preparations for sanitation upgrades, alongside Phase 2 of the Vaal Gamagara Scheme (R1.9 billion).
The Premier detalled Four Pillar Projects targeting public health, agriculture and rural development, housing delivery, and infrastructure monitoring Forty health facilities have been inspected. Facility Improvement Plans will be finalised, with quarterly reporting through PIMS. Despite a 26% budget reduction, the Office will prioritize impact, supported by R10,6 million raised through the Premier’s Golf Day.
Human capital investment remains central 259 students received bursaries (36 graduates in April), and a Services SETA partnership will benefit 1,662 youth (R117.6 million). Departments must integrate Gender Responsive Planning and will face enhanced oversight if targets are missed. The Sanitary Dignity Programme continues and a GBVF Rapid Response Protocol is being implemented.
