One of the most poverty stricken areas in the greater Frances Baard District, Nkandla, an informal settlement in Hartswater, received a visit by the Premier, Dr Zamani Saul today. The Premier was accompanied by the Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Legislature Mr Mangaliso Matika, representatives from Provincial and Local Government and senior officials from the security cluster.
The express aim of the visit was to bring food relief donated by De Beers who also formed part of Premier’s delegation.
Dr Saul and delegation also received a report on the Covid-19 response and commended the local medical team for the sterling work in responding to the Covid-19 pandemic.
A total of 550 food parcels were distributed to all families residing in Nkandla.
