The aim of this initiative is also to assist the communities in creating a synergy between people and resources for prevention and control of crime.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Violence against women and children took center stage as community members from different denominations gathered at the Galeshewe circle to pray and prepare for the 16 Days of Activism of no violence against women and children, which takes place every year.&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Commissioner Lt Gen Koliswa Otola, pleaded with victims of violence to refrain from withdrawing gender based violence cases against perpetrators. She calls on churches to intervene, and aid against the scourge of gender based violence.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Rev S Morake said, &#8220;For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,&nbsp;but against the rulers, against the authorities,&nbsp;against the powers&nbsp;of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, it is imperative for us to partake in Spiritual Crime Prevention.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The Department calls on South African men to become actively involved in ending all forms of violence. Men can do this by calling out other men who abuse, insult, denigrate or treat women like objects.
