Description
The Northern Cape Provincial Archives Service derives its mandate from the Provincial Archives Act No 7 of 2013 to ensure compliance by departments, municipalities and all statutory bodies. This service is responsible for ensuring good and clean administration through management of records enabling accountability by government in the future for past actions. The availability of data provides a body of evidence for credible decision-making in future.
The repatriation of archival material of the Northern Cape from other Provinces will be a key priority. The Archives unit will work closely with the following organisations: National Archives, provincial SITA and SALGA.
