\"vet\"The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development\u2019s Veterinary Services held a two day Scientific Workshop in Upington on the 7& 8 December 2011.  <\/p>\n

The objective of the workshop was to provide scientific information to officials and further share new approaches on scientific control methods.  The theme for this year\u2019 scientific workshop is \u201cVeterinary Epidemiology\u201d.  
Amongst topics that were shared at the two day workshop are:
\u2022    Data collection for better epidemiology analysis.
\u2022    Vaccination problems experienced in the country regarding the Rift Valley Fever disease.
Veterinary Science Officers presented  interesting cases encountered during the year. The workshop was also used as a platform  to recognize those officials with long services of 20 and 40  years.  About 100 veterinary officials were in attandence.<\/p>\n
