Eleven unemployed agricultural graduates in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District municipality (JTG) have applauded government for aiding them through the scourge of unemployment. This comes after government placed them in various sectors of agriculture, forestry and fisheries to reduce the high youth unemployment rate.

About 33 000 hectares of grazing land in JTG District on the Wonderwerk farm 40 km outside Kuruman towards Danielskuil were destroyed by veld fires. The fires spread to the neighbouring farms in the ZF Mcgawu District.
