The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development will be hosting an Agro-Processing Investment and Trade Fair from the 15th to 16th November 2018 at the Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre in Kimberley, Northern Cape Province.
The platform would provide a network for all role players in the agro-processing industry to interact with potential investors. The platform is also fashioned to create opportunities for small holder farmers to be exposed to potential markets across the continent and internationally through partnerships that will be formed through the investment and trade fair.
There exists opportunities for international collaboration on research and livestock production especially with the BRICS countries. Our research station at Vaalharts is the second biggest research institution in the world on ground beef, second only to the United States of America.
We expect to have 300 prominent people and Agri-businesses within the agricultural sector and technology and related experts inclusive of the banking sector, academia and Sectoral, Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) to leverage possible investment from member countries of BRICS following the recent BRICS Summit held in our country.
The conference will also be addressed by the Minister of Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and we are also expecting the presence of the executive leadership of the Economic Cluster and the Embassies of different countries of which Brazil would play an active role in the trade fair.
I therefore humbly request that you set aside the dates of the 15-16 November 2018 for the Agro-Processing Investment and Trade Fair in Kimberley, Northern Cape Province. We therefore invite you to do extensive coverage of the event and hope to see you organization taking a prominent role in the said coverage.
