The Northern Cape Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development is calling on farmers and land users to be alert, and prepare for the veld fire season which is upon us. The priority must be to reduce the risk of veld fires as well as preparedness to combat veld fires that might occur.
The Northern Cape Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development’s Veterinary Services has launched a Sheep Scab Campaign in some parts of the province. The aim of the campaign is to educate farmers about control measures of the disease and their duties as stipulated in the Animal Diseases Act. The theme for the Campaign is “War against Sheep Scab”.
Comprehensive Rural Development Programme (CRDP) Fast tracking land reform through the identification of productive agricultural land and potential beneficiaries.
To co-ordinate the intervention programmes of all departments and institutions in rural areas to ensure that the land and agrarian reform and rural development mandate is achieves.
