The Honorable Premier of the Northern Cape, Ms Hazel Jenkins and the MEC of Health in the province, Mr Mxolisi S. Sokatsha, on behalf of the Northern Cape Provincial Government would like to invite all the media to the following provincial event in support of World AIDS Day.
World AIDS Day will be continued to be commemorated in 2010 under the theme: “I am responsible, We are responsible, South-Africa is taking responsibility”. For 2010, the focus will be on: “We are Responsible: Couples, Friends, Families, Communities talking to make a difference” and seeks to address the collective responsibility of South Africans to dialogue on issues that affect their health.

The 2009 World AIDS Day heralds a new era in the country’s collective effort in the response to HIV and AIDS. The theme encourages everyone in South-Africa from individuals, communities, businesses and government to take personal and collective responsibility to stop HIV infections, provide care and support to those living with HIV and to ensure access to treatment for all people in need.
